Overview

Dr. Carl Motsenbocker, a faculty member of the LSU Ag Center, will speak about the role of Victory Gardens in conjunction with the exhibit, "Manufacturing Victory: The Arsenal of Democracy."

Motsenbocker, who specializes in sustainable crop production and local food systems, will discuss the increased interest in home gardens, especially during the pandemic.

Motsenbocker travels internationally to share his expertise in sustainable vegetable crop production practices.

There will be reception at 5 p.m. followed by the lecture at 5:30 p.m. The lecture will be broadcast live via the Old State Capitol Facebook page.



Funding for 2021 Rebirth grants has been administered by the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities (LEH) and provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) and the NEH Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan (SHARP) initiative.
