Louisiana's Old State Capitol educates the public on Louisiana's rich history and the democratic process through exhibits, programming and the arts. The museum is dedicated to inspiring engaged citizenship, advancing the collection and preserving this National Historic Landmark. Prominently located in downtown Baton Rouge, we are a free museum open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The Friends of the Old State Capitol are dedicated to sharing the beauty and history of the Old State Capitol with visitors from around the world and strive to continually improve the visitor experience for everyone.
