The passing of the Farm Bill of 2018 permitted farmers to start growing hemp domestically; however, the long period when hemp was not allowed to be grown in the US has caused many people to be unfamiliar with the aesthetics and creative potential of hemp fiber and textiles.
Join us for a reception followed by a special lecture at 6pm to accompany the weekend long exhibition Hemp Impressions. This talk will explore the creative potential of hemp to create contemporary fiber art by demonstrating the use of hemp in various applications.
This exhibition project was grant supported by LSU AgCenter's Therapeutic Cannabis Research Committee (TRCR).
