What to Expect
Each month, the adventure begins with interactive storybooks that spark big imaginations. Then, get ready for the main event: a showstopping puppet theatre production written, built, and performed entirely by the creative museum staff!
This month's show features a very special guest! We are thrilled to welcome author Gina Gallois for a live reading of her book, "Mama Opossum's Misadventures." Her wonderful story inspired our puppet theatre production and brought to life beloved characters like Papa Grits, Mama Roux, and her five adorable opossum joeys.
Special Post-Show Craft: Bring an Old Sock!
We encourage all families to bring an old sock from home because we will be hosting a "Make Your Own Sock Puppet" craft session immediately following the performance. We will have extra socks on hand!
Connecting Play to Real-World Learning
This event ties directly into the museum’s current traveling exhibits: "Excursions, Expeditions, and 'Discoveries:' A Young Nation Expands" and "Reimagining America: The Maps of Lewis and Clark."
