Join us at Louisiana's Old State Capitol for a special screening of Fall Seven Times, Get Up Eight: The Japanese War Brides. This moving 25-minute film shares the true stories of Japanese women who built new lives in America after World War II. The film will be shown at 1 p.m. and again at 3 p.m.
Families will have a chance to meet film creator and descendent of a Japanese war bride, Karen Kasmauski. They can also make a Mother's Day gift and enter to win a free Mother's Day gift basket, courtesy of Louisiana's Old State Capitol and Louisiana's Old Governor's Mansion.
It's an afternoon that connects history, culture, and family across generations!
This event is supported by the United States-Japan Foundation.
Admission is free, but please register so we know to expect you!
