Join us at Louisiana's Old State Capitol on Saturday, December 5, 2026, for a special screening of the documentary Louisiana Grass Roots, followed by an engaging Q&A session with film creators Phyllis Griffard and Jillian Godshall! Showings will take place at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
This film screening and discussion serve as companion programming to the museum’s traveling exhibition, Hidden in Plain Sight: Exploring Louisiana's Disappearing Prairie, which will be on display from Tuesday, November 24 through Friday, December 18, 2026.
Directed by Jillian Godshall and produced by Dr. Phyllis Baudoin Griffard, the film explores the history of Louisiana's forgotten prairie ecosystems and the vital community movement working to preserve them.
This film and its companion exhibit are proudly funded and supported by Louisiana Project Grants, the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area, and the Cajun Prairie Habitat Presentation Society.
